Do Hikvision DVR's have WiFi for the network connection or is there a way that they can be connected to WiFi so I don't need a cable to the router?

Most Hikvision (and other brands) CCTV recorders (DVR's and NVR's) don't have built-in WiFi for connecting to a network.

Connecting to WiFi is easy however using a device called a client bridge.

If your router has a WPS button you can connect the wireless bridge to your WiFi without any configuration and it is then simply a case of connecting the bridge to your CCTV recorder with an Ethernet cable as below.

Try moving the device closer to your router. Sometimes WPS fails when the signal isn't strong enough. Also, check that the device matches the frequency of the Wi-Fi you're connecting to. A 2.4 GHz device may have trouble connecting to a dual band Wi-Fi ne - Nat 8 months
