QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

We have an elderly Accenta 8, hard wired. A wire runs upstairs to a physical lock with a key. Turning this key activates the alarm system downstairs. It’s very useful for nighttime. When the downstairs alarm is activated, this upstairs key turns the alarm off. Is there something similar that can be used with a Pyronix euro 26?

Also, can the existing wiring be tested to see if it’s still fully functional?
( )
You can use an RGL key switch wired to an input on your alarm panel. This can be programmed to set/unset the alarm system.
( )
Can zone outputs be used as outputs and if so, how are they programed?
( )
Zones are typically inputs. The panel will have separate programmable outputs that can be used for whatever you need.
( )
I want the alarm to be able to trigger/switch outside lights when triggered
( )
You would need to connect an output from the alarm to a relay that is suitable for switching mains powered lights. I would recommend consulting an electrician for advice on this.
( )
What does "No on-site IT configuration" mean in the description
( )
From pyronix.com - "The EURO 46 V10 is connected through a cloud server, so there is no need to set up static IP addresses or configure the network connection on site; instead you simply set up an account on PyronixCloud.com."
( )
How many pyronix deltabell units can this panel support
I currently have 2 separately wired Pyronix Deltabell with back-lit modules.
But I'd like to add a 3rd pyronix deltabell box with back-light on the rear of the house, would this panel support this 🤔
If so could I spur off one of the existing alarm boxes rather than running a new cable from the panel?
( )
We recommend 2 wired bells on this system. It may be possible to connect a third bell but caution needs to be taken to ensure the maximum current output of the panel isn't exceeded as this may blow the bell fuse. We would recommend not using back lit bells e.g. Deltabell Plus or X as these draw more current. You may also need to set additional bells into SCB mode using the on board jumpers.
( )
I have a Mervier TS700 which has hard wired PIRs , I'd like to replace the Mervie panel and keypad with the Pyronix 46 and keypad.
My question is will I need to replace my existing PIRs with new ones?
( )
Your existing PIR's will likely be standard double pole or DEOL types. These will work fine with a Pyronix Euro 46. If your existing alarm utilises a biscuit system, this will not be compatible. As new PIR's are relatively low cost, we recommend replacing old using where possible to minimise the risk of future failure and to improve detection performance.
( )
Does this unit have the option to add a Panic Alarm in addition to the 8 zones for PIR and Door Contacts?
( )
No, the panic button would connect to a zone. You can add extra zones using the EURO-ZEM8 or you can use the zone inputs on the keypad.
( )
What is the maximum number of EURO-ZEM8 Wired Expanders that can be connected to the Euro 46 V10?
( )
You can have a maximum of 8x EURO-ZEM8 expanders on the Euro 46 panel.
( )
I have an old alarm system in the property I moved onto. It’s fully wired. Do you think I can use the existing alarm cable for this, to hook up the bell box and three PIRs?
Also does it come with full installation instructions?
I’ve installed a Honeywell system but it was a good few years ago so I need some documentation to refer to.
( )
The existing alarm cable should be fine if it's in good condition. There is an installation manual available. We don't publish it online but we automatically send it out by email when an order for a panel is placed.
( )
I have a castle euro 46 which looks the same V7 i think. Fully wired System, do i need to update the panel in order to get remote functionality?
Or is there a software update available for the existing Panel?
( )
Pyronix do not release software updates for any of their panels so in order to use the App, you will need a newer panel with a LAN or Wi-fi communication module and a subscription to the Pyronix cloud service.
( )
I see the Euro 46 V10 S can be connected to a PC (all be it by a serial connection). If a PC is connected is it possible to use it to configure the system rather than using the key pad? Is a ready made D9 cable available?
( )
We no longer supply the serial cable but the UDL software which is available to engineers can be used to program the panel via cloud connection. If your panel is setup on the network or cloud, you can connect via this method.
( )
Will this work with a siren from another alarm system?
( )
Yes. It is possible to connect other brand sirens to this panel but the cabling and connector labelling may differ.
( )
Which WiFi module is compatible with this alarm panel?
( )
The wireless module for this panel can be found here: https://connectec.uk/security/intruder-alarms/wired-alarm-systems/wired-alarm-communication-devices/pyronix-wifi-ip-module-with-external-antenna
( )
I have a Honeywell Accenta G4 alarm system at the moment. Can I use my honeywell PIR's, or must I buy new ones such as the Pyronix KX10DP 10m Pet Immune Wired PIR Detector when purchasing? Thank you
( )
Most PIR's are compatible with different brand alarm panels as they function in the same way with exception to biscuit ID and wireless systems.
( )
Hi, could this be a direct replacement for a euro mini. I have 6 wired zones and eventually would like to add a pir and door contact to a external garage conversion so Wi-Fi option is crucial. Is the Wi-Fi add on connected to the existing pcb. Thanks
( )
Yes this is the only alternative now for the Mini P since this was discontinued earlier in the year. The Euro 46 supports wireless expansion modules for your garage detectors and also supports communicators for cloud functionality via the app.
( )
Does this include a battery for the main panel?
( )
The Euro46 panels require an additional battery which can be found here: https://connectec.uk/electrical/batteries/lead-acid-batteries/yuasa-yucel-12v-7ah-lead-acid-battery
( )
If I purchase this panel to replace an existing Pyronix Paragon panel that was fitted 30 years ago and is fully fitted with wired door and window contacts and nothing wireless, would you offer support with the programming of the panel once it has been fitted? Obviously all zones and wiring will have been checked out prior to attempting to program the panel.
( )
We would strongly advise that you enlist the services of an expert installer to program a system like this. Although these systems are intuitive, without prior experience you may find this complex and our tech support are unable to provide complete remote setup.
( )
Can more than one comms module be installed to provide both WiFi and a mobile sim for backup? Or could all features run off the mobile sim module such as the app etc?
( )
The EURO 46 only supports one communications module but you can access all the features including the cloud/App from the GPRS card.
( )
Is this compatible with the wireless key fob.
( )
Yes but you will need to add the ZEM-32 wireless expander in order to use wireless devices like the key fob or wireless detectors etc.
( )
Can you have wireless PIR not wired
( )
Yes. This is a Hybrid system which can be used with both wired and wireless detectors. You will require a EURO-ZEM32-WE expander to enable the wireless facility on this panel.
( )
Does this support 10 wired zones and 4 wireless zones
( )
The Euro 46 has 8 wired zones and no wireless zones by default. You would need a ZEM 8 to add 8 more wired zones and a ZEM 32 to add 32 wireless zones.
( )
Does this unit come with the fobs or are these seperate, I just can't see them under extras
( )
The Euro 46 doesn't include fobs. If you want fobs you touch against the keypad you will need proximity tags (code 13552). If you want a wireless keyfob (code 10826) you will also need a wireless expander (code 10824).
( )
What type of alarm is this? Is it a NUD, NACOSS, SSAIB?
( )
These alarms are classed as Grade 2. Your NACOSS and SSAIB are inspectorate bodys who assess the company installing the system to ensure everything meets the required standard including servicing and paperwork. This has no relevance to the type of alarm. The grading will tell you this.
( )
How can I connect more than 8Wire Zone to the panel ? Do you have Compatible expander for it?
( )
The expander you need is the (12191) EURO-ZEM8 which gives you 8 additional wired inputs
( )
Do I need to connect via computer and software to programme this? I'm looking at getting the lan communicator also,
( )
This panel can be programmed by either the keypad supplied or via the UDL software which available for registered engineers.
( )
I have a scantronic 9651, will my wired air sensors work with this unit
( )
The Euro 46 will accept all types of detectors with either double pole or end of line outputs so there should be no issue using the existing detectors.
( )
I have existing pyronix sterling 10 system, that I'm looking to change to the euro 46 with modem module so that I can view online. Will
all my existing all hardwired meq pirs and delta bell sounders, and a gsm autodialler, be compatible?
( )
Yes your existing detectors will work fine double pole along with your existing bells and external autodialler which can be triggered from the bell output. You would require the DIGIWIFI-XA or DIGI-LAN module for the Euro 46.
( )
Can this item be purchased with the keypad substituted with the Pyronix Euro Surface or Flush Mount Wired Keypad that currently costs £102.36 on its own?
( )
Unfortunately we are unable to substitute items from the stock kits/packages as these are discounted by Pyronix
( )
Is there any way a EURO-ZEM32-WE will fit inside of this case or does it have to be fitted into its own case the is provided ?
( )
There are no mounting options withing the Euro 46 casing for this and it is unlikely to fit without fouling the tamper. It is also likely that the signal range would be reduced slightly due to being contained withing the metal case.
( )
Does the Digi/wifi module fit into the small cabinet
( )
Yes the communication modules fit in both small and large panels
( )
What will I need to connect this panel to an app for remote control?
( )
To allow remote control and notifications to be sent from this panel you will require a communication module. There are several options available including a hard wired DIGI-LAN module, a wireless DIGI-WIFI/XA module and also mobile network modules like the DIGI-GPRS+SIM
( )
What are the dimensions of the keypad unit please?
( )
The Keypad is the EUR-064 (Order code 12501) and the dimensions are 144 x 99 x 34mm
