This is a quick guide to show you how to find your network details including your computers IP address and your networks gateway and DNS server addresses using either a Windows PC or a MAC.


How to find the gateway address and other network details on a Windows computer

1. Open the network connections window by press the windows key + R and typing ncpa.cpl then pressing ok

2. Right click on the local network or Ethernet icon and select status then click details

This will show you your IP address, gateway, and DNS server address

How to find the gateway address and other network details on a MAC

1. Go to system preferences then select Internet

This will show you your IP address, gateway (Router) and DNS server address
