A mechanical doorbell chime complete with a compatible multi-voltage AC transformer that has been tested to work with both conventional and smart doorbells including the EZVIZ DB1 smart video doorbell.

Wiring instructions for use with the EZVIZ DB1 can be downloaded here (DB1 Chime wiring diagram)

If the chime is being used with a non-illuminated conventional doorbell it can optionally be powered from 4 x C batteries.

Will this unit work with a nest battery doorbell

Providing the Nest door bell supports a 12vac power source, this will be compatible

Unfortunately there aren't currently any mechanical chimes listed as compatible with the DB1C. This would suggest that this isn't compatible but we are working to trial some chimes as to confirm this.

Does the transformer fit inside the chime?

No it is designed to be mounted separately. The chime has space inside for batteries although a PSU is required if using it with a smart or illuminated doorbell.

The diagram shows a EZVIZ power kit.

What is that?

The diagram refers to the wiring method for connecting an EZVIZ DB1 doorbell and the power kit is included with the EZVIZ DB1. Other brands of smart doorbell should be wired in accordance with their own instructions.
