I’m trying to connect a freesat 1tb box to existing sky Q dish (2 cables). But it says no signal identified?
( )
Sky Q requires a wideband LNB which is different to Freesat. If you plan on using both Freesat and Sky Q off the same LNB you will require a Hybrid LNB like the one below:
https://connectec.uk/av-tv-and-satellite/tv-and-satellite/satellite-dishes-and-lnbs/sky-q-wideband-hybrid-quad-lnb-for-mk-4-dishes
( )
Is it easy 2 change the LNB or do u have 2 change the cable as well?
( )
The cable will have a screw connector on the end that can be unscrewed easily. Be careful not to knock the dish out of alignment though while swapping it over.
( )
I had sky Q taken out so think I need to change LNB to the one you are selling, but I have got an old sky HD box with single dish feed will I be able to use one cable of the twin cable or do need to change the twin cable to a single feed.
( )
Yes, older Sky boxes work with a standard (not wideband) LNB so you will need to replace the LNB. You can use a single output from a twin or quad LNB to feed the box. The other outputs can either feed additional boxes or the second tuner in a satellite box with recording functions.
( )
I have a satellite dish with a Sky EL023 LNB and sky Q. I have just got a smart TV that has Freesat built in and I would like to cancel Sky contract and just use Freesat. However, when I connect my satellite into my Samsung TV it finds the Freesat channels but won't let me watch them. Do I need to replace the LNB for one of these?
( )
If your current LNB is a wideband LNB typically used for SKY Q then you would need a standard one like this for freesat. If your existing LNB is a hybrid LNB there may be an unused standard output that you could connect to.
( )
I don't have a sky box only a humax box will this product still work for me
( )
Yes, as long as you have an oval Sky style dish that accepts clip in LNBs it will work fine. Sky dishes are usually aligned to the Astra satellite which is the same satellite used for Sky TV and Freesat channels.
( )
I have a Sky+ box (quite old now) (pre Sky+HD) and my LNB (4 output) head is physically damaged. Will your "Sky / Freesat 4 Way Quad LNB for Mk 4 Dishes" replace my present LNB ? Best Regards, Tim Cairns
( )
Yes this LNB will be fine to replace your existing unit providing it's not Sky Q
( )
Will this allow freesat 4K box to record 4 channels
( )
It will give you 4 separate feeds but you will need a Freesat recorder with 4 tuners/inputs or multiple boxes to record 4 channels.
