Audio over coax with existing microphones

I have just purchaced a hikvision ds 7208 hqhik1s from yourselves and as I understood from the description was that I could use my existing microphones to get audio with a converter. However this doesn't seem to be possible, can you advise whether I need to return the DVR or if I can modify my setup

Audio over coax only works with the built in microphones on audio over coax TVI cameras. That recorder does support IP cameras as well however and several IP cameras have a microphone input which would allow you to connect an external mic. IP cameras would ideally need to be cabled with network cable like Cat 5e or Cat 6.
