Hikvision DS-KAD706Y 2-Wire Intercom Distributor with Loop-Through

The Hikvision DS-KAD706Y is a 2-wire IP video/audio distributor unit designed specifically for use within Hikvision's 2-wire video intercom systems. This compact yet powerful distribution module plays a pivotal role in multi-apartment or multi-residence environments, where multiple indoor and outdoor video intercom devices must communicate effectively over a streamlined infrastructure.

The DS-KAD706Y acts as both a hub for data and power distribution to multiple indoor stations (monitors) and door stations, and a converter between the Hikvision 2-wire bus and standard Ethernet (RJ45), enabling integration with the broader IP-based Hikvision intercom ecosystem. Its design eliminates the need for extensive rewiring by using existing 2-wire cabling, making it ideal for retrofits in apartment buildings and other multi-unit dwellings.

The DS-KAD706Y features 6 cascade 2-wire interfaces allowing for up to 5 indoor touchscreens and 1 video intercom unit.

Application

In a 1 storey apartment building with, for example, 5 flats, the DS-KAD706Y can be deployed as a floor-level distribution unit:

Example:

• A main outdoor station (e.g., DS-KD8003Y-IME2) is installed at the building entrance.
• Each apartment has an indoor video touchscreen (e.g., DS-KH6320Y-WTE2).
• A DS-KAD706Y is installed, connecting:
  • The main entrance door station to each apartment’s indoor touchscreen.
  • The system back to a central management point or control room via Ethernet.
• This creates a modular, scalable architecture, supporting door communication, video calls, unlock control, and remote management.

For applications that require more than 5 indoor touchscreens, another DS-KAD706Y would need to be added, along with a master distributor (DS-KAD706Y-S) to connect them both together. 

This setup allows:
