The HiLook IPC-T289H-MU is an ultra-high resolution, 8MP 4K IP turret camera with a 2.8mm or 4mm fixed lens, 24/7 colour imaging thanks to ColorVu technology, and a built-in microphone for real time audio security. Digital WDR provides clear imaging, even in backlit conditions and the metal body is rated IP67 against dust and water ingress.

24/7 Colour Imaging with ColorVu

Colorvu is the name for Hikvision's ultra-low light technology. ColorVu technology is designed to deliver clear colour images in scenes with almost no light without relying on infrared. ColorVu works by combining large image sensors with advanced image processing which in independent tests has proven to deliver the best images in scenes with very little light.

ColorVu cameras often feature a built-in white light that can provide illumination in complete darkness which allows ColorVu cameras to deliver full colour images 24 hours a day regardless of the lighting condition.

Having colour images helps with subject identification, number plates capture and provides accurate context which is lost on conventional cameras.

Can this camera be mounted on a vertical wall (without the arm bracket) and either rotate the lens or image in the software so the video footage appears the correct way up?

Yes. Turret cameras have the flexibility of being mounted in any orientation due to the way the ball of the camera can be rotated. It is common to see turret cameras mounted on walls. We would however recommend using the junction box base if the connections are not going to pass through the wall.

Hi one of my cameras on my HVR became fuzzy with moisture. I bought a replacement camera from Hilook. It has the same connections and an extra push button. However, it won't connect? Nothing shows up. I put the old camera back and it shows after 30 seconds. I just use the video feed not the other connection. What's the button for? The other cameras don't have it!

If your recorder is a HVR (Hybrid) that uses BNC connections on the rear, some cameras feature a push button to switch video modes (TVI, CVI, AHD or CVBS) as there are several different video standards between manufacturers. Another possibility is that some of the newer analogue HiLook cameras use a 3K 16:9 format that only works with the current generation of recorders. If your camera is an IP camera however and you have an NVR with RJ45 sockets on the rear, it may be that the camera is either not activated, has the wrong IP or the wrong username and password. If you purchased it from us, you can call our tech support line for more help.

I'm considering a HiLook CCTV system for my home using the IPC-T289H-MU cameras. Does the light on the camera stay on all night or is it motion activated?

The light on the IPC-T289H-MU is activated by light levels and will come on when it is near pitch black. The camera will work with the light off in very low light so even a street light is usually enough to prevent the light coming on. Only the Hikvision hybrid range offers motion activated light although it is likely that hybrid Hilook cameras will be available next year (2024).

Yes, you can add multiple HiLook systems to the HiLook App and log-on once and then view any of them. You will need a 4G router with sim card if the sites don't have Internet access.
