I've actually fitted these in several 'challenging' applications (where unencapsulated contacts from a competitor have actually failed due to moisture ingress or door slamming). One challenging application is on the door to an outside accessed basement which is always damp and occasionally gets flooded. Another example is on an outside opening metal security door where it rains regularly drips off the frame when the door is open. Each of the contacts in these applications has worked faultlessly for over 5 years, without a single false alarm.
I actually wish all door contacts were as reliable as these.
