Hi I have this 8-way kit but I'm having some trouble with the video playback I have a set top box plugged into the box, its fine when it's on the menu screen on any still picture but as soon as I put any channel on, I get sound but no picture just a black screen. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I can't say for sure, but it would be worth checking the output resolution of the set top box as the menu often outputs at a lower resolution than the picture. This is often auto-detected by the TV but that feature may not work through the splitter. You can also email Antiference direct at support@antiference.co.uk for more help.

This is a legacy feature that allowed the device to be powered either end but is no longer used due to the PoE facility.

At what point would you recommend the 5v at the receiver end. I’ve tried to run 1080p over 20m of Cat6 today and it’s not working. Works perfectly over shorter runs.

This is typically used in scenarios where voltage drop is significant. It is unlikely that this will be necessary on distances less than 40m but this is very dependent on the cable quality. Copper clad aluminium cat cable is not suitable as this causes issues over much shorter distances.

Hi I have 2 sky boxes and 5 tvs, I have the TVs tuned in to only 2 channels with coax cable, I choose what box I watch by turning the tv over and I’m looking to upgrade to cat 5 for hd be can will I need a setup for each box

The Antiference HDMI over cat 6 transmitters will allow you to send one HDMI source (e.g. Sky box) over a single cat 6 cable. We offer version that can send the single source over multiple cat 6 cables to up to 8 TV's but this will be the same signal split. They are also supplied with infrared remote extenders to allow control using the remote control at the TV receiving end. It is important to remember that the same sky channel will be distributed to all TV's and will not be able to watch different channels on each TV.

How does it handle audio? I want to distribute sky Q, I have a 4K tv in the living room with a home theatre system but the other TVs are only 1080 and stereo.

According to Antiference, these extenders support up to 7.1 surround channels but there is no certification for Dolby Digital standards as of yet.

Yes this could be used to output to a HDMI switch. You may find a slight reduction in signal strength as this is usually the case after a signal has been split.
