Amazing value

Ordered this and it came next day, first thing you notice is it looks like a regular doorbell. Some others i looked at seemed more like a formal door intercom which we didnt want. The other big thing is this unit is free to run so no subscription fees are required for cloud storage etc. It does have local storage using a micro SD slot or can be connected as a regular CCTV cam to your NVR. I have tested with the HikVision 7608 and it worked straight away, even if your NVR uses PoE on a different subnet. The unit runs off the regular 16vac+ wiring for existing bell circuits or attached a regular 16vac+ transformer. Mine works no bother with my existing house bell. Once you have it installed, the mobile app for Android and iOS work flawless including alterts for visitors and motion detection. Just follow the install guide. Quality of image is really good and the 1080p resolution is a major plus.
Overall amazing value for a Wifi Doorbell that ticks almost every box for important features.

Brilliant door bell

Really handy bit of kit. Already paid for itself when I needed a part delivering for a job. Delivery driver connected through to my phone while I was out on site and I was able to get him to leave it somewhere safe. Well worth the money would recommend this product.

Great value and works flawlessly.

I needed a doorbell that was less than 5cm wide to fit on my door frame. The vast majority of units are bigger than this and until i saw the Hikvision i was pretty much resigned to the Ring Video Doorbell Pro at £250 and a monthly subscription.
This unit is great. It's small and unobtrusive and the 4 covers it's supplied with mean it should be able to blend into most locations. Setup was simple and it works a treat - the motion recording onto the SD card does what it says on the tin and no have no issues with the doorbell functionality - the app notifications, video, two way audio, and working with the existing chime all work flawlessly.
If i had to say one negative thing it's that the unit only works on 2.4ghz wifi which meant a bit of messing with my wifi setup as it didnt play nicely with the band steering on my access points.

Overall very happy with my purchase and the product although I did have some initial trouble in setting it up.
1) If you intend to hard wire this up to your existing door chime make sure you have the correct voltage transformer, 16v seems to be the sweet spot because very few hard wired door chimes will support anything higher whilst this HiWatch wifi doorbell can operate at between 16-24v. Although be warned, I've read that 16v might still NOT be enough power for this type of smart doorbell if the wiring required is over a long distance. Try the "Protek" doorbell transformers, these also come recommended by the guys at NEST for their smart doorbell which is also a 16-24v doorbell.
2) Make sure your wifi network name is not too long with too many characters. After a few hours trying to get the doorbell to connect to my wifi and eliminating all other possibilities I realised I had to reduce the length of my wifi network name, which was actually the default one my provider gave me.
3) Couldn't get the SD card (on-board storage) to work, not sure of there's a min capacity required as I was trying an 8GB SD card. Read somewhere a Firmware update is required although I'm already using the newest version, at least according to the Hik-Connect App.
